

Ted McAleer
Ted McAleer is a veteran entrepreneur, investor, startup coach, and ecosystem builder with decades of leadership experience spanning technology, healthcare, education, defense, and economic development. A graduate of West Point with advanced degrees from the University of Virginia and Harvard Business School, Ted has built and scaled organizations across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors—from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He is Co-Founder and Board Chairman of Park City Angels, one of the most active angel investor networks in the United States, where members have invested more than $90 million into over 140 companies. Ted also founded VBGS and the VBGS Institute™, helping technical founders scale their companies by combining systems thinking, leadership development, and operational strategy.
Throughout his career, Ted has led transformative innovation initiatives focused on accelerating entrepreneurship and the knowledge economy. He served as the first Executive Director of USTAR, Utah’s landmark science and technology initiative, where he helped recruit world-class research talent and build cutting-edge R&D infrastructure. His experience also includes leadership roles at SPARC Health, BraveHeart Wireless, Campus Pipeline, SunGard, Procter & Gamble, and the U.S. Army, where he earned multiple commendations for leadership and service during the Cold War era. Passionate about mentoring entrepreneurs and advancing technology-driven economic growth, Ted continues to support founders, investors, and mission-driven organizations shaping the future of health tech, defense tech, education, and clean technology.
