Johanna Cronin is a seasoned marketing executive and product strategist, currently serving as the Chief Marketing Officer at StartEngine, the leading equity crowdfunding platform in the United States. With over a decade of experience at the company, she has played a pivotal role in driving StartEngine’s mission to democratize investing and help innovative startups secure the capital they need to grow.
Johanna joined StartEngine in 2014 as Director of Product, where she spent over four years shaping the platform’s user experience, product strategy, and overall functionality. In 2018, she transitioned into the role of Chief Marketing Officer, where she has been instrumental in scaling the company’s marketing efforts, expanding investor engagement, and reinforcing StartEngine’s position as a pioneer in regulated equity crowdfunding.
Prior to her tenure at StartEngine, Johanna worked as an SEM Analyst at Dex Media, Inc., where she honed her skills in digital marketing and search engine management. She also gained experience in the entertainment industry, working at Disney ABC Television Group as an Executive Assistant and Production Assistant for the show GCB. She previously held internship positions at Towers Productions and Lifetime Television, further diversifying her experience in media and production.
Academically, Johanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from Northwestern University and also studied at Universidad de Sevilla. Her early education was completed at Brentwood School.
A Google and Bing Certified digital marketing professional, Johanna is highly skilled in Kenshoo, Google Ads, and SEM. She is based in Los Angeles, California, where she continues to lead innovative marketing strategies to revolutionize equity crowdfunding.
