Richard Eidlin
Richard has worked at the intersection of sustainable business, public policy and corporate social responsibility for thirty-five+ years.
Over that time, he has helped establish several influential organizations which have improved the quality of life in America, and across the world. Those include: the American Sustainable Business Council, the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives, Business for America and the United Nations Environmental Finance Initiative.
Richard now coordinates a national effort to encourage American businesses and business organizations to reverse democratic backsliding. The 'Business Response to Authoritarian Threats' convenes the pro-democracy business ecosystem to protect fair elections, open markets, free speech, the rule of law and restrictions on executive branch power. His experience over the years has involved work in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. Richard directed United Nations sustainable development programs, served as a senior management analyst in New York City government, taught at both Boston College and the University of Denver, co-owned a renewable energy firm, advised political candidates, consulted to multinationals, launched a social incubator training program for low-income, early stage social entrepreneurs, and led numerous business advocacy campaigns on Capitol Hill on election security, voting rights, high road workplace and environmental issues.
Richard earned a master’s in public policy and administration from the University of Wisconsin. Born in Washington, D.C., he has resided in Denver since 2003 with his wife, Heather.
